Under UK Immigration Rules, the applicant must be a genuine senior representative of an active overseas business with its principal place of business outside the UK, and must not hold a controlling interest in the company.
Key Features
- The visa is usually granted for an initial period of 3 years.
- It may be extended for a further 2 years, allowing a total stay of 5 years.
- After completing 5 years of continuous residence, applicants may become eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
- Dependants (spouse/partner and children under 18) are permitted to join the main applicant in the UK.
- The dependant spouse is generally permitted to work in the UK without restrictions.
- The visa holder is permitted to work only for the overseas employer they represent and cannot take additional employment or engage in self-employment.
